Is it true that Capiz 2nd District Congressman Fredenil H. Castro is eyeing for Governor position in the 2010 National and Local Election? Some known political figures from the 2nd District are seen roaming around the area of the six (6) municipalities of the 1st Political District of Capiz including the City of Roxas meeting multi-sectoral group and other leaders conducting random surveys of who will be their best choice for the next Governor of the province.
Meanwhile, another independent group conducted a separate political survey in Capiz and it was immediately known that Fredenil Castro’s name is the best choice for next Governor among other probable candidates including Incumbent Governor Victor A. Tanco, Sr and Incumbent Vice Governor Felipe Barredo.. The random survey were initiated based on multi-sectoral core and cluster interview approach of individuals. Around 500 persons were interviewed province wide and the results: For Governor: Castro got 285 votes or 58.0% equivalent; Barredo gained 121 votes or 24.0% while Tanco got only 18.0% or 94 votes. For Vice Governor: Survey shows Capiz Board Member Esteban Evan Contreras II leads other fellow SP members with 225 votes or 46.0% equivalent; Raymund Locsin gained 207 votes or 41.0% while Gilbert Ardevilla got 13.0% or 68 votes in totality.
Alliance Poll Systems Survey (APSS), an integrated independent based organization was tapped to handle the initial project to determine probable strong candidates for the provincial level in the next election.
In other development, our reliable sources said that five (5) Municipal Mayors of the 1st District of Capiz will be supporting the candidacy of 2nd District last term Congressman Castro if he decides to run for Provincial Governor in 2010 elections while all of the ten (10) Mayors of his own district were all committed for him.
